Frederick Ward Associates Vice President becomes Chairman of the Maryland Board of Professional Land Surveyors

Frederick Ward and Associates would like to announce Governor Martin O’Malley has appointed Vice President John V. Mettee III to the position of Chairman of the Maryland Board of Professional Land Surveyors. The Senate of Maryland Executive Nominations Committee also confirmed Mr. Mettee’s second five-year term to the state board.

John has been active on the board by writing and grading of state exams, and also participated in National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying activities. Prior, he had served as secretary, president-elect, president, and director at large of the Maryland Society of Surveyors. In 2005, he was recognized by the Maryland Society of Purveyors as “Surveyor of the Year”.

John has worked in the surveying and engineering business for over 37 years, and is a licensed professional land surveyor in Maryland, Virginia, Pennsylvania, Delaware, and New Jersey. He also has a long tradition of being involved in the surveying and engineering business, from teaching in workshops and seminars to serving on boards, as he is today.
