Wet Season Testing
Friday, December 10th, 2010
If you have a property that will require percolation (perc) tests in 2011, now is the time to act. The Harford County Health Department will begin accepting applications for Wet Weather perc testing beginning January 1st. Wet Weather (or Wet Season) perc testing must be completed between February 1st and April 30th, and test dates often fill up as the season progresses.
Perc testing within the Wet Season is required by the Health Department for soils known to have elevated levels of groundwater. Listed below are the soil series that require Wet Season testing, as well as those soils which are restricted from any perc testing because they are unsuitable for on-lot sewage disposal. Remember, although soil series are often named after local towns or places, those soils are not restricted to only those regions.
