Craig A. Ward, PE, AICP
President / Principal

Craig Ward, President, oversees all operations at the company’s Maryland location. In his role as president, Mr. Ward has expanded the firm’s capacity to provide both private and public sector clients with a single source for architectural, engineering, planning and surveying services.

He is a graduate of the University of Maryland, earning a B.S. in Civil Engineering. He is a Registered Professional Engineer in the states of Maryland, Delaware, Virginia, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Michigan and Connecticut and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners. Mr. Ward is very committed to community service and actively volunteers in a host of vital community organizations, most notably the YMCA of Central Maryland and the Bel Air Downtown Revitalization Alliance.
 


Torrence M. Pierce, PE
Vice President / Principal

Tory Pierce, Director of Engineering Services, is responsible for the planning and design of civil engineering projects. Mr. Pierce has 20 years of proven experience in the field, with extensive knowledge of the land development process. From zoning approvals to environmental permitting, Mr. Pierce is qualified to direct projects to successful completion.

Mr. Pierce received his Bachelor of Civil Engineering from the University of Delaware and has been a Registered Professional Engineer since 1989. Mr. Pierce serves on the Board of Directors for the Boys and Girls Club of Harford County and the Harford County Chapter of the Home Builders Association of Maryland. In 2003, Mr. Pierce was named Consultant of the Year by HBAM. He resides in Bel Air with his wife Eileen and their three sons.
 


John V. Mettee, III, Prof. LS
Vice President / Principal

John Mettee, Professional Surveyor and Chief of Surveys, directs both field and office surveying operations for Frederick Ward Associates. A dedicated and multi-talented professional, Mr. Mettee adds a unique level of expertise to his assignments. His experience in field location and verification of utilities, roadway, commercial and residential sites, as well as his extensive experience in title research for easements and property boundaries, make him an invaluable asset to any project.

Mr. Mettee studied Civil Engineering at the Johns Hopkins University and has been a Professional Land Surveyor in Maryland since 1987. He also is licensed in Delaware, Virginia, Pennsylvania and New Jersey. He recently completed a term as President of the Maryland Society of Surveyors and is a certified Trimble® GPS trainer. Mr. Mettee is widely published in professional journals for surveyors.
